The x-Glo LED Lighting Tunnel Range is our latest product to be developed, based on what our tunnelling and tunnel construction customers have asked for. The individual strip lengths can be ordered in 5/10/20m increments. When linked together provide a continuous light spanning up to 400m between power supplies.
Each 5/10/20m length is pre-fitted with quick connectors on each end, making it easy to connect or decouple the LED light strips together, as required. In a tunnel construction environment, this makes it easy to progressively install the LED strip as the tunnel gets built out.
The LED light strip is IP67 rated and encased into a solid silicon extrusion with nanotech dust and dirt retardant properties to keep these LED lights shining brighter in the harshest environments.

Standard Range

The x-Glo LED Lighting Standard range is used mainly in mining where there is sufficient access to 240v power for the 12, 24, 36 or 48v AC/DC power supplies. Each strip is typically powered from both ends for maximum run lengths and provides redundancy if the LED strip is accidentally cut or damaged.
Run lengths depending on the lumens required, range from 42 to 90m. These LED Light strips can be cut to size at 10-15cm intervals to suit your specific length requirements and can be done on-site.
Available in a Silicon or PVC extrusion with nanotech dust and dirt retardant properties to keep these LED Lights shining brighter in the harshest environments.

Long Range

This LED lighting product is used mainly when there is limited access to 240v power allowing longer run lengths between the 24, 36 AC/DC volt power supplies. Often used in tunnelling, tunnel construction, mining declines and drifts.
Being able to span over longer lengths between power supplies means less power infrastructure needed, making it less expensive and faster to install. When powering the LED light strip from both ends the maximum run lengths are doubled. This also provides redundancy if the LED light strip is accidentally cut or damaged.
Based on the lumens required the run lengths range from 80 to 168m.
These LED light strips can be cut to size at 10-15cm intervals to suit your specific length requirements and can be done on-site.
Available in a Silicon or PVC extrusion with nanotech dust and dirt retardant properties to keep these LED lights shining brighter in the harshest environments.

IECEx Range

The x-Glo EXM LED light strip is the ONLY IECEx certified LED strip light available today.
The x-Glo EXM LED light strip has been specifically developed and IECEx certified for oil, gas, coal mines, explosive magazines and hazardous industrial areas, such as paint manufacturing, tanks and high dust zones.
Being an IECEx product each LED strip needs to be pre-ordered and manufactured to the required length. Each IECEx light strip can only span a maximum of 30m between power supplies and can be powered with 24, 36, 48v AC or DC IECEx approved power supplies. Available in Silicon only with dust and dirt retardant properties as standard.

EXM LED Strip Light For Hazardous Areas

Our EXM range is specifically designed for zone 1/21 and 2/22 areas. Environments where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of flammable gases, vapours and dust.
Our EXM strip light is fully encapsulated using a food grade silicon material. The double extrusion isolates gases and dust in the prevention of igniting any atmospheric substances. The strip light is low voltage, offering 24, 36 or 48 volts which reduces the risk of serious electric shock and are developed to operate in extreme temperatures from as low as -40 degrees to as high as 80 degrees.
The EXM strip lights have both ATEX (Atmospheres Explosibles) and IECEx (International Electromechanical Commission Explosive) certification.

Yes, you can order a specific length. The EXM PCB comes in standard 0.5 metre increments and we can customise it to meet your required length.
The strip light is powered from one end using a power supply/Driver which matches the voltage of the strip light. The power supply will either need to be placed outside of the zoned area using a longer extension cable on the front connector or if it is placed in the hazardous environment, it will need to be housed in an enclosure. MineGlow can provide a quotation for a suitable enclosure which is also mountable or portable.
Yes, it is possible if you have a large enough power supply to power up both strip lights off one PSU. For e.g. the minimum wattage required to power up the brightest EXM strip light is 240 watts. You would require a 240W or higher power supply in an enclosure with enough space for heat dissipation and containment. The enclosure will differ in that there will be two flame proof cable glands with IECEX certified female connectors installed which allows for a plug and play solution to the IECEx male connectors which are installed on the strip lights.
Yes, but only in the scenario where the power supply is outside of the hazardous area.
All of our strip lights including our EXM range hold an IP67 rating. This allows them to effectively be used in outdoor areas too. The connectors are injection moulded onto the strip light and the stainless-steel braided cable comes with a DryWire mechanism to prevent water from entering the strip through capillary action.
The steel braided cable can be customised to the length you require. A common requirement is a 5m long cable on the injection moulded front connector however, we can also manufacture the front connector with a 10 or 15 metre cable.
We have integrated a Current Control IC into the EXM light body. This component maintains a constant current level despite temperature fluctuations, thereby preventing overheating and protecting the internal PCB from damage. Provided that temperatures remain within the specified ambient range, there is no need to be concerned about overheating.
If a segment of the strip light is damaged, the entire strip will not be affected. The light strip will continue to function normally, as the damage to one circuit board does not result in any short circuiting.
On average all our lights have a lifespan of 50000 hours.
Yes, a 5-year warranty is issued when purchasing our EXM strip lights. Additionally, every strip undergoes rigorous quality checks before leaving the factory.

We suggest using our stainless-steel mounting channel. It was designed especially to fit our EXM strip light and is easily mounted to any surface and built to withstand high levels of vibration. Yes they are able to hang vertically without placing pressure on the cable and strip light.
As these lights are made to order and are not part of our standard stock, the average time from production to despatch is 5 weeks.
